Menus for children’s diets

Childhood is the period of greatest physical, intellectual and psychological development. Food plays an essential role in this cycle of life. The incorporation of micro and macro nutrients in the diets of children reinforce the overall development of infants. It is therefore necessary to make menus for children’s diets, to help strengthen both your body and your mind.

* Infants of 0-2 years.
* Early childhood from 2 years to 6 years.
* Second child of six years to 12 years.

The feed will aim to meet the nutritional needs of each stage. In general, we can establish what foods to be included in a menu for children’s diets, food and basic essential for a child to grow up healthy and strong. Menus for children’s diets should include:

* Dairy: 3 servings per day (two glasses of whole milk per day) plus a portion of cheese.
* Eggs: 3 eggs per week, egg every day.
* Meat: 2 servings of meat (2 times a week fish, two times a week chicken, three times a week beef).
* Vegetables: 3 to 5 servings daily. Both raw and cooked.
* Fruit: 3 servings a day, of which one would have to be a lemon.
* Vegetables: 1 serving, can replace meat or eggs.
* Fats: corn oil, grape, sunflower, olive and spice. Try to avoid fried foods. Butter, margarine sparingly.
* Sugar: Just to sweeten teas or milk.
* Sweets: Sporadically.
* Beverages: The best drink is water, if for some reason this is not accepted, opt for juices, smoothies and light refreshments.

This selection of foods should be part of the diet of infants, each of them provides the nutrients (proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals) necessary for optimal growth both physically and intellectually.
