Caesarean or natural birth?

Caesarean or natural birthAfter having traveled for several months during the pregnancy and when it approaches the time of delivery will wonder how our own: if it’s C-section or natural childbirth . In fact, it is the doctor who will test our state and if no complications are not natural childbirth or adoption, if necessary, they will opt for a cesarean procedure.

Natural Childbirth

Is the preferred way of mothers having a baby, even if it means suffering a little, pushing too much pain and suffering enjoy the fact that our baby can reach the world in the most natural and healthy as possible. However, this does not mean that caesarean section is not healthy but it is a surgical procedure that is used in emergency.

Caesarean section

In many cases the work of childbirth begins in a normal and natural but at the time of delivery may be some problems for which interrupt the natural childbirth for a cesarean section, these are: separation of the placenta from the uterine cervix where the child can suffocate and the mother may start with a hemorrhage complicating the baby with the cord (you can jam) where the only way to save is with a caesarean baby difficult to exit the birth canal (this happens when the child has the abdomen larger than the head, which happens as a consequence of having a diabetic mother).

These are some of the conditions that require a cesarean section to achieve a healthy birth. Anyway, is not something that can be chosen, usually, but it is something that is decided by the obstetrician after analyzing all the factors that are affecting.

Computer program predicts disease risk premature

A computer program predicts the likelihood of future disease and heart problems in premature babies. Research at Stanford University in the United States. In Embarazo10 you count more than the news.

Researchers at Stanford University have published the results of their work in Science Translatinal Medicine. Through a computer program called PhysiScore using routine hospital data control in the first 3 hours of baby’s life, predicts the likelihood of future infections, illness and heart problems that might occur weeks later.

This program could help doctors distinguish between infants even better high-risk and low risk, a challenge faced daily by specialists in neonatology.

Thanks to this software:

* One could predict the health of premature infants to anticipate what kind of care you receive, whether to spend more time in local intensive care units or transferred to a hospital for more specialized care.

* PhysiScore program can be used automatically in hospital monitors without needles or other invasive techniques.

* When babies are born premature passing through a cardiorespiratory monitoring minutes after birth. The monitors displayed and stored continuously the vital signs including heart rate, respiratory rate, and the amount of oxygen in blood. premature Read the rest of this entry »

Disease In Premature Babies

A maternity, special care, even light, that receives little too early are sometimes difficult to bear. Instead of feeling reassured by the increased surveillance, young parents are rather confused face of this tiny baby and its apparent fragility. Its slender shape, its thin skin, sometimes a bit “wrinkled”, his few hairs … The physical characteristics of a premature infant may accentuate this feeling of anxiety. That did not last obviously. Although prematurity is often difficult lives, little by little, baby gains weight, her face relaxes, he is regaining strength … It just grows!

If a preterm delivery has visible consequences, other effects depend on the developmental stage of its vital functions at birth. In premature infants, respiratory, digestive, liver … are indeed more or less immature. Disorders or deficiencies related to the prematurity may therefore appear over time: difficulty breathing, weak stomach, anemia, iron deficiency or lack of vitamins … care, examinations and monitoring performed in motherhood, which is sometimes extend to return home, are there to detect and remedy any problems. These are very rare for premature babies, born after the 33rd week of pregnancy. In prematurity, we must distinguish “premature baby” of the “big premature babies”!
